why does everyone tend to slam areas of DFW
The beauty of the metroplex is the wide spread prosperity and lower cost of living which allows for this.
We should hope that the day will come soon that the areas north and south will receive assistance/development need so that the metroplex can have another feather in the hat.
I smile when I have friends come in from Palm beach, FL, Scottsdale, AZ
and pay a compliment to DFW for its variety of options for "nice" areas to live. They are used to a smaller # of nice areas than we get to enjoy.
Maybe its the competitiveness that drives all of our areas to be better.

You're clueless.
My neighborhood in far southwest Dallas is far from a "toilet".
Southern Dallas has many great neighborhoods and they are as crime-free as any suburb.

Those photos are very nice, but they are on the far outskirts of town and hardly count as being part of the city. That area may even be Grand Prairie.

No, it is not Grand Prairie. I took the photos myself and am a homeowner in the area. I suppose I would know what municipality I pay my taxes to. But, it shows where you're coming from. You clearly don't know what you're talking about, but that doesn't stop you from shooting from the hip anyway.

Default I-45 Questions

Hey, guys, do any of you have any updates on new development along I-45? I realize the Trinity River development is coming, but has anyone heard about what might be happening on 45 in the near future?? I bring this up because there is talk of new shops and restaurants to eventually replace a scrapyard at I-45 and South Lamar. There's also talk of accompanying development at Loop 12, Simpson Stuart, and even I-20 to make a new southern gateway between the Dallas Logistics Hub and the Trinity River. It would be fabulous if that corridor got something new.

Any of you folks hear the latest??

I hear northern burbs being quoted a lot on this forum
Mckinney, Frisco etc

Grand Prairie, Cedar Hill are closer in distance to downtown than some of the northern burbs. So you can't discount them as far outskirts of town.

Those are great photos which should encourage us to take a drive around and explore DFW and not take others words and gossip as scripture or fact.

Which is, of course, is a toxic lake.

(US Navy took a major dump there, and tried to scoot out of town).

Why the obsession with some folks on here with trying to BS people that the South side does not suck?

Why the elitest attitude toward a sector of the city you know nothing about.
