Another good area to look in is the Kramer Elementary School district which is between Hilcrest / 75/ Royal/ Forest. It's another excellent DISD school and the homes there are a bit bigger (2700ish & up). Great neighborhood with the new Northaven Trail running through it and the JCC there. Should work well at the higher end of your budget.

Thanks for the suggestion TurtleCreek80. We found something that interest us greatly in that area. I'm hoping 100% offers aren't the norm in that neighborhood but we shall see assuming we like the house. Again, thanks for helping me think this through by adding more valuable feedback!
