As for best game, I'd expect it to be Cedar Hill vs. Katy. The former's only 2 losses were to Allen and DeSoto, while the latter has marched through its entire season AND the playoffs in dominating fashion.

I expect Allen to overwhelm Pearland and Aledo to completely destroy Brenham. Aledo has been punching WAY above their weight all season long. Their victory over Ennis was their CLOSEST game of the season, and they "only" won 29-6. The beat HIGHLAND PARK 44-3...the same Highland Park that just lost in the 4A DIVISION I semifinals. If Aledo is even challenged by Brenham I'll be shocked.
In 4A, DII is often a lot better than DI. 4A has way more schools near the top cutoff than any other class, particularly in DFW and Houston, so you get a lot of schools with 1800-2000 kids that end up DII.

What are the cutoff points between 3,4,5 A?

3A is roughly 450-950, 4A is 950-2090, and 5A is above 2090 (next year each class is getting bumped up one letter, so 5A will be 6A).

The division splits are different. In 4A and 5A, the two largest playoff schools from each district are in Division I and the smaller two are in Division II. In 4A, the larger schools tend to be suburban and the smaller schools either suburban or rural, so you can see four 1200 student schools make the playoffs in one district (two of whom go DI) and 4 1900 student schools in another fistrict (two of whom end up in DII).

Hmm...Aledo won 38-10, although it was tied 3-3 midway through the second quarter (although they then rattled off 2 TDs before halftime on their way to an eventual 31-3 lead).

Allen won 63-28, although that was tied 14-14 at the end of the 1st quarter before the Eagles blew it open.

Last game...so far (about 5 minutes left 2d quarter as I type this), Cedar Hill is leading Katy 3-0 (and checking the play-by-play, Cedar Hill justs scored a touchdown to make it 10-0 with 4 minutes to go, 2d quarter.

I'd say "toldyaso", but with my luck Katy will promptly run off 28 straight points or something.

Uh huh. Katy just scored 2 TD's in 2 minutes, on 3 offensive plays, to go up 14-10. Why didn't I have this sort of prescience in picking lottery tickets for that big drawing this week?
