Hello…. I recently relocated to Lewisville from the Memphis area. I am currently renting an apartment (Ballyntine) however I am actively looking to buy a home in a few months. I love Coppell but it is out of my price range. My budget is $300K. I would like a single family home, 3 bedrooms no more than 10 years old. I work in Farmers Branch at 635 and Luna. I would prefer not to live too far from where I work maybe 30 minutes…. I have a 5th grader so schools are important also.

The most affordable city seems to be Lewisville. But unfortunately, I have not come across any nice areas in my price range. I am new to the area, so maybe I’m not looking in the right places. Anyone know of some nice communities in Lewisville?

I have a budget of 300K, I am looking for well maintained homes, maybe something with an HOA and something where my commute to work (635 and Luna) is not too painful. I am open to living outside of Lewisville so any other city that meets this description please let me know. Thanks for your input.

Are you finding ones above your price range? Lewisville isn't an expensive place...

For $300k, you might look at the eastern part of Flower Mound, and the part of far north Irving that has Coppell schools. Both of these are newer and have better schools than most of Lewisville.

Most of Lewisville's housing stock is more than 10 years old at this point. There are pockets of new construction - Chase Oaks at Bellaire and Valley Parkway comes to minds. There's also Settler's Village off of 121 (which I tend to think of as The Colony).

I live in the Oaks of Bellaire, which is a stones throw from Flower Mound. Homes there are just past 15 years old and I'd encourage you to take a look if you're flexible on house age.

I think your challenge is going to be the 10 year or newer age requirement. I've seen well-maintained homes in CISD for under 300K, but they are definitely more than 10 YRS old and seem to fly off the market. I've never considered the schools in Lewisville proper to be highly regarded, but LISD is a large district spanning multiple cities, so their schools in Flower Mound & Highland Village have good reputations.

I would try and find something in Flower Mound if I were you. That's going to be the best bet for meeting all or most of your requirements, assuming you like the available inventory in that range! If you're willing to drive further - Keller, Roanoke & Trophy Club might be good options! Good luck!
