I missed my regular residential garbage pick up in Plano and wondered if I can take it to a disposal site myself. (Thanksgiving has my garbage "cup" running over)

If you just have a couple of trash bags, you may be able to throw them in the dumpster at your work.

Also, Collin County Public Works has a "First Saturday Citizen Trash Drop Off Day" from 8-2 on the first Saturday of every month at the North Texas Municipal Water District landfill on Highway 121 in Melissa. There's no charge, but you'll need to take proof of residency (driver's license or utility bill).

OTOH, if you have large items or many full trash bags, your closest landfill will let you bring it in. They'll weigh your vehicle when you go in, and weigh it again when you leave. Call them to find out how much they charge.

All you need to know:

Plano, TX - Official Website - Do-It-Yourself Disposal

Closest drop-off is on Plano Parkway a few blocks west of Coit.

No need to scam the work dumpster.

Bring your water bill - they are pretty rigid on that - too many scammers using the service for work purposes.

Sorry I didn't catch this earlier - you could have dumped the trash today.

Thank you for not scamming the work dumpster. We small businesses actually pay to use those and when inconsiderate folks dump their personal bags or large items in there, it causes extra pick ups which is charged to those small businesses.

No problem found the location and times after the first response. CD is great, I swear I searched the site but didn't find this bit of info.
