I'm looking for a quality preschool/daycare for my 3 year old, preferably in the McKinney area. I really can't find much information online about people's opinions. When I ask neighbors they all recommend a methodist preschool but that's only part-time.

Now I have toured Primrose and was less than impressed (Eldorado). Castle Montessori seems quite top notch but has bad online ratings. Joyous Montessori seems like a daycare center to me. I will tour Good Shepherd and The Montessori school (Allen) later this week.

Do you have any recommendations, reviews for schools in our area that fit the criteria? Anything relatively close to the Stonebridge Ranch will work for us (Eldorado-Alma corner).

I've heard great things about Apple Creek and there are locations in Frisco and Allen, although neither is very close to the location you want. But it might be worth looking at.

My wife worked in a few preschools in the McKinney/Allen area and suggests both Wonderland Montessori Academy of McKinney and The Montessori School in Allen. She worked at neither of them, but recommends them highly.

There is a Goddard school here in McKinney. Nationwide, they are known for being a top notch pre-school. However, online reviews state that the McKinney location may be lacking a bit in comparison. I haven't personally checked them out myself but I plan to.

Thanks!
Applecreek only takes newcomers at the beginning of the school year, but yes, they seem very good. I'll be looking at Goddard, Wonderland and Good Shepherd this week. Star Creek has yet to call me back

Has anyone experience with Castle Montessori? The place seems put together really well but there are plenty negative reviews online.

Out of curiosity, how come none of the preschools in the area post their tuition schedules online? You always have to tour before they even show you their prices....

They don't post their prices because they want to get you in the door. I have found they will give you their prices if you insist though. I told them I wanted to narrow down my choices first and couldn't do that without prices. I tactfully made it clear that if I didn't get the prices, they would be off the list.

I know someone who has a child at Star Creek and they are happy. I can't remember their tuition exactly, but it was comparable to Goddard. There is also a Goddard in East Allen. I don't have any experience here, but there is a Crème De La Crème in Allen. They were very well regarded in Atlanta. My child now goes to an in-home daycare, so I can't give any current recommendations.

I see. I don't like that tactic very much but oh well. When I seemed not so interested in one school the director immediately tried to negotiate a lower rate with me which I found ... odd.

Wonderland seems pretty nice but they have a wait list. I somewhat take it as a good sign though, people want to get in there then...

My child goes to Joyous Montessori he's in the toddler class and he loves it! The teachers and staff are awesome and so helpful. Go check out their facebook it has tons of pictures.
