So me and my family are possibly relocating to DFW in 2020. We're looking for the suburban life and Cedar Hill definitely peaked my interest. There's a collegiate prep school that we would enroll our child into in Cedar Hill that's rated pretty good for elementary students in the state of Texas. The job I would transfer to is about a 35-40 min commute depending on traffic. I live in Houston and have that same commute everyday going to work. Not to mention when I first moved back to Houston I was living in the Woodlands and working in Missouri City(that was a 1 hr and 30 min. commute).

I like the fact that the area has a high black population and has a low crime rate. I've been to DFW several times but only once to Cedar Hill. I no nothing of the communities that make up Cedar Hill or the amenities. If there's any Cedar Hill residents I would love to know more about the city. Is it family friendly? Is it mostly fast food chains and boring landscapes? Is there a old town square or anything of that nature? We'll definitely take some trips up 45 North to get a vibe of the area but a heads up would be nice.

Thanks in advance.

I have a friend who lives in a very nice neighborhood in CH and sent her kids to private school. Lately they have been thinking about moving. She’s complained about hearing gunshots several times. Its a really beautiful area and well located. I have tenants at a rental house in Midothian who moved to my house from a rental in CH because they’d had two home invasion burglaries.
