Thank you Aceraceae. I'm assuming the historic homes are very pricey How are the people in these areas? We won't know anyone where we are moving to and a friendly community is important. We relocated a few years ago to where we are now, and although we love the area...the people aren't the friendliest.

I relocated here from Tennessee approaching three years ago and most everyone is/has been friendly. Not much different from Tennessee in that regard except TN has more of a southern accent.

I'm not familiar with the historic home prices as we live in the central part of McKinney off of Lake Forest although we go to the square often. McKinney tends to be more hilly than other northern burbs which is nice. Stonebridge has many great sub neighborhoods.

That's good to know. We are relocating from Tennessee ourselves, Georgia before that, but where we live isn't the friendliest. 15 minutes north is a different story though. What I see of Mckinney looks lovely.

I came from Knoxville. McKinney is a great town and has been very good to my wife and I.

Actually, I think "where" you live actually is important if your husband is going to be commuting all over the place. My DH does that with his company and there are places we would never consider for any other reason than they would add to ANY commute time (Rockwall for example - the only major way to Dallas is shut down right now. Again)

If his commute will be all over north Dallas and the northern suburbs, McKinney might be OK. But if he's going to have to hit Ft Worth or south Dallas and do some during rush hour traffic, you're going to want to consider something closer in.

Chapel Hill is a really nice new community that is fairly close to the McKinney Square. It is single-family homes.

I personally really like Cambridge homes, which was one of the builders there.
