I would also like to know if anyone is or knows someone in the auto industry in the dfw are. The service side. How busy are the dealers. Do you get paid hourly or flat rate?

Haven't noticed any smog. Fog, yes, lots of times. My asthma is gone now.

Sorry I meant like having to smog a vehicle. Not air pollution.

Does every county not have smog in Texas? Only some? Anyone care to share their vehicle reg. costs?
We call it an inspection, some counties check the emissions output (SE TX):
Vehicle Emissions Inspections in Texas

Your vehicle registration costs? Hope you're sitting down.

$53.75

2014 Jaguar? 1972 Volkswagen? Same cost.

It's more than 2% almost everywhere.

Default For $250,000 a home in DFW is better than in Cali

I know where Galt is.
I used to like driving along the river road to Galt. I can't remember if Franklin is in Galt.
I could Google map it, but nah.

Anyway... yeah, for $250,000, you can get something NICE in Plano, Tx (DFW)
where as in California/Sacramento you'd be buying a "regular" house in Oak Park. LOL!

The houses in Plano start at around $250,000 to $350,000, made of STONE, and as BIG as the "rich" housed you'd find in ELK GROVE (made of stucco) for $750,000 and UP !

Here's a Plano house for $244,000

here's one for $300,000 in Sacramento. (notice the next door neighbor; hella ghetto. LOL )

I recommend Plano. It's newer, cleaner and all around Nicer. And it's connected to Dallas through the 75 freeway. The drive from Dallas to Plano or vice-versa is like driving form Sac to Elk Grove. But BETTER. You'll like it.

Arlington is where Cowboys Stadium (AT&T stadium) is at, and Six Flags, and Rangers Ball park, etc...
but the Area as a WHOLE is a little "old" and not ANYTHING like Plano.

It's closer to what Grand Prairie is like except that Grand Prairie has WAY more Hispanics.

Plano is Mostly white, but with Asians and Hispanics.
We go to the Walmart there, coz the Walmarts (on the 30 , both in Dallas) have too many black workers who allow the lines to get INCREDIBLY LONG, as they talk with each other, and take their time to check you out.
It takes from 30 minutes to an HOUR to make it through the lines.
So we go to Plano and Richardson when it comes to Walmart. lol!

But if you're REALLY thinking of getting a cheap house, there are places where you can get a nice Townhouse in the Uptown Dallas, or Turtle Creek area. !

It's BETTER than Plano, in my opinion.

But if you MUST move to Plano or Arlington, choose PLANO.
