Fort Worth is growing at a much higher rate than Dallas and is expected to be bigger than Dallas by 2015. Why is that?? Dallas is the place to be, Fort Worth is an old, blue-collar cowtown.

And where do you get the fact that Ft Worth will be bigger than Dallas by 2015? Dallas has around 1.25 million people. Ft Worth has 650,000. So in 8 years, 2015, Ft worth is going to DOUBLE its population? NOT HARDLY. Someone has obviouly mislead you terribly.

Where did you get your data? The estimate by NCTCOG (North Central Texas Council of Governments) the populations of FW and Dallas will be:
_______2005_____2010_______2015______2020_______20 25_____2030
FW___580,152___624,956____675,864___727,416____784 ,263 ___826,665
DAL 1,239,190__1,268,500__1,294,003__1,319,788__1,375, 983__1,404,847

(Welcome to NCTCOG.org) The growth rate for FW is higher but they are starting from a much smaller base so Dallas should be have larger population for a long time.

Dallas can't get any bigger area-wise; for the population of Dallas to continue to rise, the population density has to increase in the city.

Here's your answer. Dallas is landlocked. Fort Worth isn't.

Your friend may have read that in a misleading article. I vaguely remember it being discussed on another msg board. Bottom line, it ain't gonna happen.
