Hey,
I am new to the Dallas area and will be traveling out on my own soon. I live in the Carrollton area. I have family about an hour away from me, and I don't want to bother them to bring me to the airport. I do have a tolltag, and thought about just parking my car in the parking garage for a week, but that will be expensive. I attempted to look at taxis, but thats pretty expensive as well.

Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

Park near the airport. Some places offer $2-10$.

Google "dfw airport parking"

There are airport shuttles that serve the area. Google airport shuttle service.

You can take DART bus to the Airport, too.

I like The Parking Spot 2 on 114 at Freeport Pkwy. You can often find a discount coupon for them in the American Way magazine. Regular price is about $8 a day, and they have shuttles to take you to/from terminals. There are also on-airport remote parking lots on the north and south ends. Those lots are about $6 a day, and they are uncovered.

Yes, you can take DART, but it will take a lot longer.

I would just go to Downtown Carrollton or Frankford Rd station of DART take it to Downtown Dallas and then from there take TRE to the airport station from there you can take the shuttle to the airport

DFW Remote parking at the airport will set you back about $9 a day (24hrs) in a secured setting.
While you may save a couple more bucks a day or so by parking at off-site lots, this is still the best
deal considering you have better security and a more reliable shuttle to your terminal.
If you're gone for a week... you're looking at $63 to $70 ....not a bad deal for the peace of mind.

The offsite places are also secured, and they all have reliable shuttle service. There's very little difference other than price.
Personally, I will only use Remote if there is zero chance of rain in the forecast while I am gone. Call me paranoid, but I don't want my car to be hail damaged while it sits out in the open. (It is parked in my garage at home!)

remember that the TRE does not run at all on Sundays, so if you choose that option, make sure you will be departing and arriving Monday-Saturday.

It doesn't help now but DART rail will open at the Airport in late 2014.

A Super Shuttle might not be that expensive.

Yep, I've parked in remote (North) location brfore. It's $8 / 24 hrs with toll tag. OP, You'll get a free shuttle servvice to your terminal, but one must plan for extra time to get there from parking lot.
