I'm offended, but I can also relate strongly to your personal situation of starting over, living alone, etc.

Take a look at the various apartments around the Shops at Legacy in Plano. Parkside at Legacy, Northside at Legacy, Post Legacy. There are lots of 30-50 somethings living there post-divorce, having a great time. It's an area where you can walk right out your door and stroll around a neighborhood filled with bars, restaurants, cafes, dozens of patios, etc. It's a great place to "recover" for a few years and even have some fun. :-)

It's not super convenient to Farmer's Branch, but it's not horrible either.
That's absurd.

Several times per week people pop on and ask..."I'm Muslim, Indian, black/AA, American Indian, Nigerian, Canadian, English, French, Asian etc. and some variant of, "I'd like to live in an area that has folks who look/think like me"......

When everyone else asks - it's OK. When a white person asks - it's racism.

Although I'll grant the OP might have thought through her wording a bit more.

Exactly. The lady wants to be near some white people. I don't see any issue.

Put on your big girl panties and get over it. What she said was not something to take offense to. Might have been worded a bit poorly, but that's it.

Frankly I'm offended by how ridiculous your response was.

To the OP, I agree with the others in this thread, Las Colinas/Valley Ranch area would be well suited for you.

I also think Addison, near Addison Circle, right off the Tollway, would be good too, if you are willing to be a bit more adventurous and want to be closer to restaurants, bars, nightlife, etc. Addison would be a better place to meet people your age.

agree with that, but a person has the right to live where they want to and feel comfortable living. If white is what is wanted, I'm suprised at the Las Colinas/Valley Ranch suggestions. Its professional, safe and upper middle class, and I would consider first and second generation immigrant families much more family oriented but I wouldn't classify it as white.

I think that's what she meant, though. If you want neighbors who are quiet, keep to themselves, keep their properties maintained, don't drive like maniacs, and dress nicely...you could do worse than Indian immigrants.
