I'm not sure how far along the project is, but in Richardson on 75 there is a big redevelopment of the old Nortel site. I believe it's going to be mixed use apartments and retail. It going to be the new urbanism style. The cool thing about living there is T.I. would be straight shot down 75, or a quick trip on the light rail.

Parkside at Firewheel in Garland would be to bad either. They just opened a couple months back and from what I have heard it is very popular so there may not be any apartments available. It's seems like a really cool place to live, I'm just not sure what the noise level would like living in the middle of a mall.

You have to be careful when selecting an apartment in Northeast Dallas. If the rent is well below the market average, thats the main red flag. My advice to anyone looking in the area is to avoid Forest Lane east of 75. The apartments of The Village have managed to stay nice for many years, they are the exception to the rule.

There are also some apartment just west of 75 on Forest next to Medical City Hospital.

I drive through The Village and I have to say they are doing a great job of keeping that place nice (they keep tearing down and rebuilding) -- the flowers are always beautiful and this time of year the Christmas lights are great. Of course in the summer there is the legendary main pool and Village Country Club House.

That place is really a rite of passage for 20 somethings in Texas.

I was going to recomend the Village , too. I've lived all over DFW, those are centrally located, close to a DART, have just about all the amenities you can ask for AND the managment is GREAT. I have a girlfriend in the main office and she lives and breaths her residents.
