I am moving from Denver to Dallas and looking for a short term lease until I can buy a house. What are my options? There are 3 adults and a 2 year old kid + 5 year old dog.So backyard is a must. I didn't find much luck in CG. Should I approach a Realtor for a 6 month lease? Mainly looking around North Dallas Area.

You will most likely wind up at apartment or condo. Some have a tiny outdoor space. As a landlord in the DFW area, I have lots of competition/applicants when a single family home becomes available. I have no reason to accept a 6 month lease and them have to deal with another vacancy in such a short time.

AS Squirl mentioned, very few landlords will do a 6 month lease nowadays.

Rent a two bed apartment in Austin Ranch. Its a very dog friendly community on Dallas North Tollway.
