what are some of the best Mexican restaurants in the Dallas area? I would prefer the locally owned Mexican restaurants but am opened to trying out the chain Mexican restaurants.

Tacontento at Jupiter/Park intersection. Small, local and delicious.

I can never get enough of the Bob Armstrong dip at Mattito's, or the pickled Jalapenos at Rafas. Though I will say.....have fun looking for parking at Rafa's if valet isn't working.

Just to clarify...Bob Armstrong dip is served at Matt's (not at Mattito's). But as much as I love that dip, I wouldn't consider Matt's to be the best Mexican food in Dallas.

I really love Mariano's in Lake Highlands and Avila's on Maple (in the Oak Lawn area). Also, if you like Brisket Tacos, you should try Mia's on Lemmon Ave.

It's also served at Mattito's it's just not on the menu.
