Lovejoy also seems to border McKinney and Lowry Crossing as well. That is pretty far out for many people.

joy.
Actually, Allen lists way near the bottom academically by any objective measure.

Sure, sports are great, but if you are not one of the 2% of kids who are in varsity sports, who does that really benefit?

For 10 million Allen could have built a dedicated STEM academy, but they built a stadium with cracks in it instead.

Rockwall and Hebron HS did much better academically than Allen despite having much smaller senior classes and much poorer demographics.

Liberty HS (Frisco) by itself outperformed all of the huge Allen HS.

Here is the percent by senior class size.

That's great that you reference threads in city-data. So if varsity athletics are less than 2% is it safe to assume that national merit scholars are less than .01%

Here are some external sources that rate the ISD's.

Texas Public School Performance School District Rank

From the above link here are few stats.
Out of disrict and 1,345 High Schools

Lovejoy #5 District # 9 High School, top 1%
Allen #18 District # 35 High School, top 4%
Plano #64 District # 107 High School, top 8%
Plano East #64 District # 438 High School, top 33%
Plano West #64 District # 167 High School, top 12%

Frisco ISD #29 District (I didn't bother to break down all the Frisco High Schools)

So if Allen is near the bottom by all objective measures please explain the above site ranking Allen the 18th best ISD in the state?

Lovejoy is ranked 234, nationally...

Which school or district someone chooses depends on a lot of factors. Out of the 3 districts mentioned here (Lovejoy, Allen, Frisco Independence) I would pick them in that order. But a lot depends on budget, commute to work and a lot of other factors.

I live 2.5 miles of 75 and the North end of Lovejoy is even closer.

Frisco ISD also borders Little Elm, Denton ISD, Prosper, and Lewisville ISD. A lot of people consider that pretty far out by a lot of people.

It all depends on where you work and what you are looking for in schools, commute and type of property/community.

There is a bit of controversy with Lovejoy ISD and their AP student claim. I dont have time to pull up the many links of pros/cons of Lovejoy. I know it was brought up recently. Look in the threads.

My child does not go to either district so I cannot speak specifically to them. We are in Plano ISD and its been great so far.
How can Independence be highly rated if it doesn't even open until this fall? It opens with grades 9-11 and will compete in the UIL on a varsity level.
