If You Live In Dallas And Have AT&T U-verse Internet... (sales)

I live within the city of Dallas (Collin county).

Can somebody please tell me how much tax and surcharges does AT&T add to the monthly subscription of their U-verse Internet?

AT&T told me that they are unable to give me an exact breakdown but that the total should be about 10% - 15% of the monthly charge. Does it sound about right?

Thanks!! I am surprised that the sales tax charge for U-verse Internet is only $1.16. I was expecting such tax to be at 10-15% as AT&T told me and so if calculated on $56.00 (or $39.00, I don't know) it would be more than $1.16.

You probably know this, but AT&T always has major discount offers for Uverse that they don't readily offer, but will usually give you if you ask (especially if you speak to someone in retentions). I've been able to get our internet service at really low rates by asking for these promos and being willing to commit to annual contracts.

Not to mention, the "great" offers are only if there is another provider serving your area. Otherwise, you are not getting anything else than a minimal bundle discount. One of my friends you lives a mile down the road in the older part of the neighborhood pays half of what I pay monthly because that part is also served by TWC.....Uverse is the only option available in my part of the neighborhood.

How does one know what other high-speed Internet options are available in different parts of Dallas? Is there an Internet site with such information?
