Hi all! Due to my husband's business, we are moving to Corinth(near Denton). The public school assigned to us is Hawk elementary. My kids are in 2nd and 3rd grades. Currently, they attend a small Christian private school in Preston hollow and have been since preschool. I'm wary about putting them in public school for the first time as they are used to a Christian environment, small classes, parent/teacher involvement, etc.
I have, however, heard good things about the public schools in my new area, but I want to know if they are (Hawk) good enough to be an easy transition from 3-4 years of Christian private. Are the classes small, good kids, teachers, etc? The private schools I plan to research are Liberty Christian, Selwyn, and Grace Christian Academy.
Have any of you had any experience with any of the schools mentioned, including Hawk? Advice on whether to send them to Hawk or to go private would be greatly appreciated! I've read mixed reviews about Liberty but it seems to be the most reputable private in my area., unless someone can give me any other options that are within 20 min driving from Corinth area.
And if any of you have any experiences with Hawk elementary that you can tell me about, that would help my decision as well!

I don't have direct experience with any of the schools, but I know quite a few people from the Lake Cities area. The public schools may not be explicitly Christian, but in general the residents are conservatives and Christians, so I wouldn't imagine there would be anything too offensive about the public schools to most Christians.

Selwyn is a non-sectarian school. It has a very good reputation, and is ISAS accredited (the agency that accredits the "elite" schools like St. Mark's, Hockaday, Greenhill, Cistercian, and ESD). It is extremely small-fewer than 200 students for Preschool-12.
