Saw it on the news last night and kind of feel bad for anyone that already takes this road daily. Good luck everyone, don't go to crazy!

I feel the same, but from what I've heard it gets pretty bad during rush hour.

The Bush Turnpike is being widened, too, from I-35E to Highway 78. At times it seems empty, but at other times it backs up. Construction is expected to begin this year and take until 2019.

PGBT between 35 and the DNT really sucks at times. Especially heading toward 35 in the mornings.

I want to know who thought it would be a good idea to widen every highway at the same time. They all need it, but delaying traffic by widening 35 and DNT at the same time seems like a Traffocalypse waiting to happen.

Good idea...driving on the DNT makes me feel claustophobic...yet I'm curious to know how they plan on widening the DNT in Addison? it's not as if it's just empty land around the tollway there. you have businesses and other developments packed in pretty tightly all around the tollway at that point..can't see any businesses already there agreeing to give up their prime real estate to road widening.

If I had a PGBT widening request, it would be between Highway 114 and 183 in Irving. Goes down to 2 lanes and is a huge bottleneck every afternoon/evening. There's plenty of room to widen in that area. It's never bad anywhere but there going WB/SB at that time of day.

I see what you're saying, it is pretty tight from Belt Line to Frankford but based on the aerials it appears they do have about 20' of ROW on each side of the highway for this expansion. Hopefully, it wont be necessary to remove any existing buildings or business to make this project happen.
