You can set up profiles for your neighbors or hired help to enter your home at certain times (to feed cat/water plants/drop off mail/etc) when you are gone, and these profiles won't let these other people in normally. You can get door locks that unlock when you disarm the system. Online monitoring from your phone or tablet. If you forgot to set the system some morning, you can set it from your phone at work.

The interface is really intuitive, and you can set alerts for when certain things happen (door or window opens, etc). These are different than the intruder alerts where someone will call you.

Not sure how much it is, but it can't be more than what we spent for ADT.
Is there still an issue with the low volume keypad chirp? I've been debating whether or not to get it, but this seems to be a major complaint that I've read. I've also read the keypad seems a bit cheap.

I was at AT&T today getting a new phone. Though it may have just been a ploy to get me to purchase, they were offering free installation of their system since we have been long time loyal customers. Might be something worth looking into.

I have not had this problem with the keypad chirp. The keypad seems on par with the ADT/Brinks, if not a little nicer just because it happens to be new.

Another +1 for Smith Thompson. Great prices and responsive customer service.
I recently had some check codes pop up that I couldn't figure out. A quick call to their tech on the phone and they helped me figure out which sensors needed batteries changed out.

Any thoughts on Smith Monitoring(formerly Forward Security). They seem to have the least upfront costs with a 3 year contract
