Hi Everyone,

First, I have to say this site has been an amazing resource for me and my family. I have been snooping here for months now, and I really love the input, insight, much of which I have put to good use.

Here's my question: What other schools in the Plano West area would you recommend as options alongside Brinker, Barksdale and Centennial?

Continuing to look very hard in those areas, but it's proving very difficult to find a house in the $450,000 to $600K range that (a) does not need heavy updates or (b) has any semblance of a yard with a pool. I have a 7- and a 9-year-old, so elementary schools are my biggest priority, but I'd love to have an area where the schools of all levels are strong.

Any insight is appreciated.

The market over there is extremely brutal for buyers. I am also looking to buy in Plano West (I have a crazy wife that picked the worse timing to fall in love with this area) luckily our offer has being accepted and should be able to close soon if everything goes smoothly. It can still be done, you just need a REALLY REALLY good agent that is well connected and on top of that be willing to pay all cash or pay 10+% more than listing price. I know its insane but if you aren't going to move for at least 5 more years I am sure you won't lose money on the investment.

I think you should also consider Frisco. Newer house, great school and the whole area is on the up swing with Whole food and Cowboys moving in, especially if you don't care all that much about lot size and backyard
