I know the horsepower limit on White Rock is 10HP, but does anyone ever actually see fishing boats with 8 or 9HP engines?

If I got my husband a fishing boat with a motor that size, would he be the only one cruising around? He's dying for a jon boat, but I didn't know if motors were somewhat of a "faux pas" on White Rock since I usually only see sail boats.

We have lived near the lake for 10 years and I don't recall seeing a motorized boat other than the ones that work with the rowing teams.
