I sincerely doubt you're going to find any municipality in the metroplex where setting off fireworks is legal (especially those that leave the ground).

Not allowed anywhere near city limits. And even if you can find some rural place to do it, I wouldn't this year due to extreme fire danger in this drought.

I called the place where I bought the fireworks off of Dowdy road in Dallas and they said that I can pop them there until this Saturday and that they would charge $15 per car.

You can go out past Rockwall on highway 276, and in the parking lot of Southern Junction bar, there is a fireworks stand that will let you shoot them off.

IIRC, fireworks of any type are illegal to even posess anywhere in Dallas County.

I think you're right. In any case it's not worth it to shoot them off in a populated area even if it IS legal. You could start a fire or seriously injure someone.

People really should leave this to professionals.
