Hi, we're moving to Dallas from the UK soon. I've never driven on the right hand side and, although I'm used to a big automatic car, I'm nervous of learning US driving rules. I also want a chance to get used to lane positioning and the road layout without my toddlers in the car (both for their safety and my sanity).

My plan is that my husband looks after the kids and I go out with a professional instructor. We're looking to rent in North Plano, McKinney or East Frisco. Please can you recommend an instructor or company?

There's this guy. His specialty is teaching adult Indians, who are coming from the same driving background as you (i.e., the "other" side of the street.)

Thanks Big G, much appreciated.

Ok, next random question - where do you guys do most of your shopping? Over here it's Waitrose and Costco for me, I know Costco is close by. Where do I go for good quality groceries?

Depends on what "good quality" means to you. Krogers, Tom Thumb, and Wal-Mart are large chains with what I would call good quality stuff. Whole Foods is even better but pricier and has many organic choices. Lately, the big chains have been carrying a smaller selection of organics. I prefer Tom Thumb deli items such as their ready-made soups.

In Plano, we like Central Market, Tom Thumb, Costco, Kroger, Trader Joe and Sprouts all are good.

No Waitrose stores around here. Closest thing would be Tom Thumb.

But we have a lot of choices, from Central Market & Whole Foods on the high end, down to Wal-Mart and Aldi on the low end. You'll have no problem whatsoever finding a grocery store that meets your style.
