Hey everybody

Which to join for family membership, mom dad and two kids, 7 and 9 ?

Coppell YMCA: $95 to join, $828 year = $923 Year (Year-1 anyway)

Coppell City Rec Center: $500 a year

Any info is appeciated. Yes, I need to take a tour and see it with my own eyes, but until then I wanted to get some feedback.

Thank You !

I'm a rec center member. I like it, but we don't go as often as we should. The group exercise classes and gym area are nice.

Rec center and aquatic area are so nice! And Kid Country is right there, along with the bike trails.

I'm a former Coppell YMCA member and switched to the Coppell rec center about 3 years ago. I think it really depends on what you are looking for. I didn't need organized classes, but the Y seemed to have a lot more and more variety/frequency if that is important to you. The rec center has more kid friendly pool options with splash park type stuff. For what I was needing, and the price, the rec center was a better fit for me.

My only complaint about the rec center is the facility hours. They don't open until 1:00 on Sunday and seem to have more holidays and closures (I guess similar to what you would have with other city offices).
