Who would you say is the next best after Verizon Fios? Getting ready to cancel due to the SEC Network debacle. I'm guessing not ATT because if I'm wired for Verizon then I'm not for ATT right? So that leaves Time Warner and the dishes. Any suggestions?

We have uverse in our area and have been happy with that. I've had Time Warner and Direct TV in the past. I would say DTV over Time Warner if it's between the too. Only problem with DTV is you can't get your internet though the satellite so you have to have a separate DSL line. At least that's how it was when I had it but that was 5-6 years ago.

I've always heard good things about Fios but if they don't have SEC Network then that wouldn't be an option for me.

Stay away from Time Warner at all costs unless you want to call customer service every second day because there are constant problems in your network/connection. If Verizon doesn't work for you and AT&T is available in your area, I'd stick with AT&T.

FIOS is about the best you can get when it comes to speed and stability.

I agree. That's why I've held out this long. But the SEC Network is a must. If Time Warner is that bad, I guess it's either Dish or Directv.

And I'm also really ticked that Verizon's played this out so long.

Check AT&T availability at your address on their site. Likely won't be available, but doesn't hurt to check. They are the better choice after VZ. Avoid TWC at all costs, I could only stand them for a month before I had to cancel (I had Comcast in the NE and this was worse).

DTV would be my next choice after VZ, AT&T. I had them for 3 yrs with no issues.

Where in Dallas/North Texas can you NOT get AT&T? I find that appalling since they're HQ here (and not NJ). Support your "local" Fortune 500 company

AT&T and Verizon do not compete on a block by block basis, ie if Verizon FIOS is there, you aren't going to get AT&T's top line services in most (if not all) neighborhoods. Maybe this will slightly change when AT&T completes the purchase of Direct TV.
