Thanks,

That makes sense. I would make the trip twice a day for 5 days. Thats like $200 a month in toll fees for for your typical Mon-Fri work week! Traffic going both morning an afternoon wasn't that bad since we could always leave early but the return trips would get crazy, 40 minutes minimum. I got lucky I guess and didn't run into any wrecks, it doesn't seem like a lot of wrecks on the toll unlike 75...there is always a wreck on 75 some where.

I don't know what people are smoking or driving. Here is a most recent NTTA bill for me from saturday when I travelled from Frisco to downtown dallas.

$3.31 one way (Ross/ field to 121/DNT). There you go....

$10? $9? one way? Is NTTA serving you a special starbucks when you travel on their tollway?

$4.89 one way from Eldorado to 35 = $9.78 round trip. Frisco extends north of 121, you know....in fact, 121 is the southern-most point in Frisco, right???

Thanks, that sounds about right. I came from Eldorado and the Tollway, so you're estimate is dead on. I love it when people just assume that I randomly made up something for giggles and cheap laughs.

We put our son in a Mavs basketball camp this past summer in Plano and the toll was the easiest route. Anyhow, it seemed like I spent $100 that week driving to and from the Downtown area. Just wondering, seemed like a ton of money for such a short time. I couldn't imagine spending that on a weekly commute to work.
With a Tolltag it's $7.56 roundtrip from Stone Brook Pkwy to Wycliff and back according to my "TollMate" app. ZipCash is $11.36.

OK. Round trip makes sense because for some reason I thought people were talking about one way. Yes, 121 is the southern-most point for the city but not the ISD. However, there are plenty of places around the southernmost part... If I were commuting from Eldorado to Dallas in rush hours then I would be worried about many other things than just tolls... the biggest one being time spent on commute.
Btw, you meant Eldorado to downtown correct?

OK, how about the cost of gas and miles on your car?

I live in Frisco and work in Plano. I wouldn't even consider looking at jobs in Dallas.

I lived in Frisco for about 8 months and commute to downtown and to Greenhill was a nightmare. There are so many schools everywhere that getting to 121 took ages.

It makes no financial sense to live in Frisco while working in downtown Dallas but I can see other reasons making this move appealing for many people. I personally wouldn't though.
