This guy OBVIOUSLY wasn't forthcoming about his recent travels, and he didn't mention in the first visit that he'd been to Liberia or that he may have Ebola - and you know good and darn well he had to have suspected it. So there's nothing in his actions that makes me think he gives a rat's arse about the safety or wellbeing of the general public.
Apparently that was not the case at all

this is why any of them that can afford to come here will try.
Really? What proof is there of this? This person didn't even know they were sick until well after they arrived to visit family.

Goodness people, calm down.

Im 90% certain that you would be fine (meaning quite certain). But I also probably wouldnt go. I suspect many other parents wont go anyway, so what kind of party would that be?

check your reading comprehension. I *never* said or implied that that is what he did. What I did say was that people who are able to and who are infected will try.

If you could come to the US which possibly has a known cure, or be taken care of in 2nd or 3rd world hospitals please dont tell me you would just accept it when a flight is only $1300.

I would contact the organizers and ask if they could "postpone the party due to unforeseen circumstances". No one would blame them and I'm sure ALL the parents are debating whether to attend. For gosh sakes, if you're child spent ANY time in the NICU, the last thing you'd want to do is to bring them into a "potentially" harming situation.

Just an update, I think he could have known although that was not my original point.

Thomas Eric Duncan: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com
Quote:
The New York Times reports that on September 15 Duncan helped a neighbor, Marthalene Williams, get to the hospital in a taxi. She was seven months pregnant, convulsing and vomiting. Williams died at the 3:00 a.m. on September 20 at home after being turned away from the hospital due to overcrowding. She had contracted Ebola. When she was being brought into the hospital, she was so weak Duncan had to carry her.

Two other people (not including Duncan) who came in contact with Williams contracted Ebola and died subsequently. One of those who died Marthalene Williams’ brother, Sonny Boy. He was in the taxi with Duncan and his sister.

The Williams family were Duncan’s landlords, he rented a small room from them in Monrovia, Liberia.
