We just rented a house zoned to Flower Mound Elementary ( moving from out of state and not there yet!) and I was told FM has open enrollment and we can register at any school as long as they have room. I understand they are all good and we have a short (6month lease) while we look for a house to buy. I was hoping to register in an area we may want to buy to keep my kindergartener from having to change schools again. I talked to Bridlewood Elementary (we really liked this area of town) and they have plenty of room but then this got me to thinking, why? Are the kids in Bridlewood mostly older? Any particular areas/schools with lots of younger kids? We have a toddler as well and hope to live around other kids their age. Thanks!

To the poster, I have don't have an answer but I have a question. Did you obtain a realtor to secure a 6 month lease in Flower Mound? We need to do the same since we are moving from California and I am curious. Thanks.

My parents just moved out of Wellington. My mom visited the neighbors recently and they said Halloween was much less busy as a lot of the kids have grown up. I wouldn't doubt if it is the same in Bridlewood.

That being said, people with grown kids tend to downsize/move out and new people with younger kids move in (my parents are a perfect example), so I wouldn't let it worry you. I bet the kid population will bump back up soon.

@joellen1, my parents had a 6 month lease while they were building their new house and they just searched listings online
