I just checked the quote on Uber from Richardson to DFW airport and the price range quoted (including tip) is $33-45.00

Thank you all so much for your very helpful info. I'll check out your recommendations. I have been afraid of Uber because of a number of articles I've read which tell about them charging cab fares in the hundreds of dollars -- or even over a thousand dollars!

It's $75 from Preston Hollow to DFW so I can't imagine it being half that cost from Richardson...
