Congrats on moving to Prosper!

We moved there recently and we love it. As you meet local Prosper folks, you will find the town is split in terms of development. A lot of people out here dont want it to grow and they like the semi-rural feel that it has with lots of open fields. And then you'll meet people who are frustrated that there's not a lot of restaurants or retail compared to nearby Frisco or McKinney.

When you said you got a cheaper house in Prosper than in McKinney I was shocked. When we were looking at houses it was very hard to find a house in Prosper for less than 350k, unless you got one of the older houses by "old town" prosper that is at least 40 years old.

Anyways, we met lots of nice folks here and love Prosper. Check out the high school, it is absolutely massive and looks like a college campus.

There's also a new pediatrician in Prosper who does house calls that we love!

Ha, I guess we fall into the camp of wanting more restaurants and retail!

We didn't get a cheaper house in Prosper... we spent about 200k more than our house in McKinney was. What I meant was, if we were to buy the same size house in McKinney, with a pool and a golf course lot in SBR, the price would have been $100-150k more than what we spent for Prosper. Truth be told, we really wanted to stay in McKinney, but the deal we got on this house was just too good to pass up, and we're not that far from McKinney, so it's not that big of a deal.

I guess if Prosper is trying to be the new Southlake, they'll make those things as ubiquitous as the Dragon stickers on SUVs and minivans. You'd think there was a city ordinance mandating them or something.

LOL I won't change it. If you have any questions regarding McKinney, feel free to PM me. It really is a great place to live, we're going to miss it. Thankfully we're still very close by.
