I don't think you could go wrong with your choices. And yea, they're building new stores AND apartments all the time. Just remember, traffic can really wear on a person so be really mindful of your commute. Since you know where your job will be, really think about the traffic. Plano is really nice, but it may be too far. Living closer to work is optimal because really, you go there every week day. Whereas going to a neat store you really like may be a once a week thing...

My sister-in-law lives in Sachse and I'm always surprised how this town has grown up. And because Firewheel Mall is right there, along with many restaurants and a great Kroger, that might be a decent idea. You can always hop the tollway on the weekends to go to your specialty stores...and also think about the expense of the tollway. It's not that bad but it can definitely add up.

Good luck...I really hope you find something great!

Thanks, Shellnic. I was wondering about Sachse, Wylie and Rowlett. Does your SIL like Sachse? We don't have young children so I'm not concerned about schools. But then I don't want to be somewhere that has nothing to do on evenings & weekends. My husband would be more comfortable in an area with a more "small town / rural" feel to it. I have friends in Rockwall but I've heard that the traffic over the bridge can get pretty bad. I'm used to an hour & a half commute now, but it would be really nice to get home quickly.
