Hi All!
We just moved from the medical district in Dallas to Richardson TX - 75082 and we noticed that our water smells musty/sour??? Hard to describe it... I've read that the water smells different during the summertime because of the low water/algae/heat, and etc but didn't really see anything about it happening in the winter time or the musty sour smell. So I'm not sure if what we're experiencing is normal or not. Has anyone else noticed this?

Thanks!

If you are in Collin County then yes, that's normal. It's seasonal usually. It's algae in the water. Harmless. Use a Brita water filter.

With the drought, Lake Lavon is very low right now and yes it smells a bit. Perfectly OK to use, but coffee and tea are better with filtered water too.

Since moving here, I have learned not to drink the tap in and around Dallas... just tastes like dirt. Filtration is my friend.
