We are moving from NJ to Frisco next month. I have special needs kid who goes to the self contained- ABA class 5 days a week.Currently he is getting couple number of times a week speech,ot and pt therapy. He is unsuccessfully integrated to the mainstream class.

Does anyone have information about how good the special needs program in frisco area ? Do they provide all the therapies needed for a kid? Are there private special education school too in the area ?

Any kind of help is appreciated.

Unfortunately, I can't help you with Frisco. We moved here last year and moved to Flower Mound because that was the only place I could find actual info for pre-move. I'm not sure what ABA is but my son is in the lowest functioning self contained classroom environment so I understand your worries. This will not help you with school, but the Lewisville ISD has a separate (fantastic) Special Needs PTA. On their website you can find a great provider directory that will help you with all the other needs you may have in transitioning your child. Good luck! My son's class is the best one he has ever been in (and we've moved a lot). Hopefully your experience will be the same!

If that link doesn't work Google Lewisville Special Education PTSA

I don't know about ABA classes being available. Our daughter is PDD-NOS, but she's mainstreamed. She has ADHD and SPD. Considered mildly autistic. We just moved from CA to TX. We picked Frisco b/c we have family that lives here. I've heard very positive things about Frisco ISD. A friend has a non-verbal son who relocated to Frisco ISD b/c of the services. He is not mainstreamed, so that school might have ABA classes but not sure. Our daughter gets integrated OT, didn't qualify for speech. Is seeing an OT outside of school when insurance approves.

SAGE is a good group to email/contact for info. FRISCO ISD SAGE on facebook. Other people from the nearby school districts also comments on that page.

I've heard of the Great Lakes Academy and met a parent whose son is an Aspie. She had only good things to say about the school and recommended it. Good luck.

The Shelton School and the Winston School both have very good reviews. You might look into them although they are in North Dallas, not Frisco.
