Currently live in McKinney, and am looking for a smaller city,
as McKinney has just boomed so large, and continues to grow.
I miss 'small city' life.

Work from home, so commute is not an issue.
Do have a child in middle school, so 'decent' schools are a plus,
though don't need to be 'exemplary', as they are here.

Would be nice to still be in an area that has all the basic 'necessities'
nearby.
Grocery stores, Walmart, CVS, etc.

Been looking online around Burleson. Any opinions on Burleson?

Thanks much.

Gosh, I'm not the best person to respond, but I don't see any other responses, so here goes.

I assume that you are reacting to how McKinney has changed, by being so close to a major metropolis. When I read your post, I thought of Burleson County. However, the town of Burleson, TX is a bit south of Ft. Worth. Burleson Co. is much further south (between Bryan and Waco), so I guess that is not what you were referring to.

That said, I think Caldwell (the county seat of Burleson County) is a pleasant place and enjoys proximity to a lot of more urban areas.

I used to live in Fort Worth and have been to Burleson quite a few times and I would definitely move there. Small town feel but you're not that far from Fort Worth at all. I want to say real estate is somewhat reasonable there and you should be able to get a nice sized housing lot there.
