We are relocating to Dallas and have a second grader and fourth grader. I would consider us a religious family relying of the Lord daily and my children currently go to a second tier private Christian school in Houston. Going through the application process and trying to gather information on the various schools. I have read all I can find on Providence, TCA, and Highland Park public. I have faith my children will do fine at any of the three but would love to hear thoughts.

*What do most Providence families do after 8? Socially it seems it might be hard to go from a small school with your core group to HP or Trinity for high school and have to start over socially.
*We are not perfect by any shape of form, but I expect my family to do their best to be a light and reflect the gospel. That can be hard for a child, to expect them to have the courage to do one thing when everyone else is choosing another.
*I want them to be well rounded as we take them on mission trips and hang with people from many walks of life.

As we are now in February, March is just around the corner. Isaiah 41:10 "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you with my righteous right hand." This is the scripture I am holding on to today.

IMO, Providence would probably match your family best. As for high school, there is A TON of movement that happens in private schools between grades 8 and 9. About half of the privates are K-12 and the other half are K-8 or 9-12. Providence has a good record of getting kids into the elite Catholic schools (Ursuline for girls, Cistercian or Jesuit for boys), and a sprinkling to the other top private schools (St Mark's, ESD, etc). I don't think that many matriculate at TCA for high school....academically, Providence's rigorous and classical curriculum matches better with the top privates than mid-tier Christian schools.

A good chuck of Providence 8th graders do to onto HPHS, where they usually know a lot of classmates already from church, sports, or from neighborhood friends.
