Hi,

Can you suggest me the place in dallas that can do media room carpet? How much it will cost around for a 19.7x13.8 room? I checked few media room installers and they said it costs around 2k. Can you suggest the people that you used to do this?

Thanks,

The carpet you choose is going to make an enormous difference in cost. You could do builder grade with a few seams for very little or a thick plush 15 ft wide for a great deal more. Hopefully someone has a good recommendation!

I just had carpet installed in my house by Peeks and they had a lot of choices, were very reasonably priced, and their installers did a great job.

When you say "media room" carpet, are you asking about regular carpet to go in a media room, or are you asking about specially made "theater" carpet like you see in real movie theaters?

Like this: Home Theater Carpet and Theater Carpets

If you're just looking for a regular carpet install, there are a million carpet companies out there.

Thank you all for the information. I am looking for specially made theater carpet. I had the regular one installed and I want to replace that with the theater carpet. If I order from 4seating or any other website, do other installers like homedepot or any one can install that? or do we have companies in dallas where we can chose the carpet and they can install that for us.?

Yes, Home Depot can install it (they simply contract the work with a local contractor) but you're probably better off calling around a few carpet companies and telling them that you already have carpet, give them the room dimensions, and just ask what their installation fee is.

When you choose an installer, please post who it was and if they did a good job. I'm going to need my own media room recarpeted in a month or two when we install risers.

I used a place for a custom piece of carpet - carpet with a sewn in edge treatment making it into a rug for our HT room.

I'll try to find the number. This place is in North Dallas west of The Galleria.

We used Peek also and are in love with the carpet we chose and how well they did installing it (has a pattern to deal with seams).

Thank you Murphy and LED. I will call them tomorrow to see the prices and installation costs. I will visit them in the weekend. Thanks again for your help.

One option you can try is to have the carpet installed by a certified installer.
CFI - Certified Floorcovering Installers

Just type in your location. They may charge a small fee to measure. Make sure you
get references.

I haven't tried this route but I am thinking about it rather than using Peek's for recarpeting
our upstairs.
