I wanted to know if private pools were allowed in the backyards in the master planned communities...

Yes, there are many houses with pools in Castle Hills (you can see this with the satellite feature of Google Maps). The only requirement for adding a pool to an existing home (as in most of the master-planned communities) is to submit a development plan to the HOA.

AND getting a permit from the city. Do NOT take the word of your contractor that you either don't need one or that they've got it covered. Make sure you see it before they start any work.

Absolutely, Some good pool contractors live in Castle Hills. Check the HOA directory.

Double check the restrictions if the ARC makes a mistake the mess they create is yours alone to deal with...legal fees and all.
