I haven't forgotten about all of this good info. Just reading a lot of forum discussion. Any thoughts on the Plano SR feeder schools now that the new boundaries have been established?

No problem NPlanomom. Hope you got what you needed out of those threads.

My 2 cents - Plano Senior remains a good school for sure. But with the realignment and loss of Rice and Jasper (replaced by Carpenter etc.), it is hard to see how the academics won't be impacted. They did get Schimelpfenig though... On the flip side, Plano Senior sports might improve now that you've removed the nerds :-) (no offense meant to nerds of which I am one)

Good luck with your decision....

Hello Kate, what makes you think Frisco schools are atrocious? Any isd is not going to spoon feed any child without parents involvement. What other outside school activities does your daughter do apart from school? This is your second post and the very first one you wanted to send her to Plano isd. Frisco has several things to offer, like for example the CTE center, they support Destination Imagination whereas Plano backed out of it to focus on sports, to name a few. Just look at the regional tournament's results for DI this year, DI 2015 Results, out of 260 teams see how many Frisco school teams participated and how many moved to State and how many teams from Plano did. I am not saying Plano isd is atrocious but my point is instead of blaming the school systems first see what are your issues with providing education to your child. I wish you good luck in moving to Plano.

Frisco schools are safe and decent, poster obviously never experienced real atrocities.

As far as DI is concerned, Plano was sweeping all of their competitions but we no longer do it as district, some local helicopter PTA parents still enter their teams and I must say that they aren't doing half bad.

If you instead look at serious academic, STEM, fine arts or sports competitions then you'll know where Plano is focusing on.

You keep saying this in multiple threads but you are the only person I have ever heard with this opinion. Whats your problem with FISD?

Ignore her. She goes on lots of forums trashing Frisco in general - nothing nice to say at all.

And we just moved from Borchardt to McSpedden
So, how does McSpedden compare to Borchardt? Is there anything worth mentioning in respect to the school, or are all the test scores, etc. being driven by the demographics?
