The title pretty much says it all! A little background, we are a family of 3 that are looking to purchase our first home. We are originally from the midwest area and have been in DFW for less than 3 years.

Schools are very important to us and we believe both Flower Mound and Frisco have that to offer. We are also looking for a family friendly environment with a neighborly feel. The top of our budget is $300K so phenomenal school areas like Coppell and Southlake are out of the question.

One of us will be commuting to Addison and the other to Las Colinas.

So, what are your opinions on Flower Mound and/or Frisco? Give me the good, the bad and the ugly

Based on your commute alone, I would pick Flower Mound. Have you considered Grapevine?

Either area will work perfectly well for you. Keep in mind in your price range there is a severe shortage of homes right now and they go extremely fast.

In Frisco you'll have tolls to get where you are going. Not so much in FM.

There are a number of homes in Flower Mound in the high $200's, but be prepared to jump quickly.

We've lived in the Flower Mound area for years and like it a lot, and the schools are excellent. I think the Flower Mound schools are on par with Coppell and other districts.

Flower Mound gives you shorter commute and better schools compared to Frisco. Do check out Far West Plano or North Dallas(PISD).
