My cousin is looking to learn speaking English.
She can speak (has a masters degree) and understands when spoken to but lacks practice speaking in business/formal situations.

Where would she go to learn speaking English?
She lives in Colony and has a car to drive to the class but has some constraints (kids keep her busy so she can only learn during the day).

Does community colleges have special classes?
I want to recommend ToastMasters club I went to.
But she may want to learn basics - constructing sentences, questions, etc before getting in front of toastmasters which can be intimidating with timers and ah counters.

Depending on what city you're in, the city's rec centers or libraries might offer classes. I know Richardson does.

Community colleges are also a good place to look. Also, many large churches offer groups where people can practice their English. There may even be a Meetup.com group for it.

Have her go to a senior center and just start talking with the people there. She'll learn conversational English very quickly, as long as the seniors give her a chance to talk.

Also agree with the rec centers as they usually have tons of classes.

Hello,

I am a grad student in Counseling and psychology. My mother tongue is not English thus I need to practice my speaking.
I am not interested in conversation groups or English classes since I have tried these before and they did not work for me that much. I am looking for a native English speaker, who may have some free time and likes to help someone like me. we can go out for a walk or just seat and chat, when ever and where ever suits her the best.
Do you know where can I find such a volunteer?
