Good point! Most of the areas listed are about 10 minutes closer to her job in Colleyville.

Irving is too far for me though. I tested this and it was an hour without slowing down or having construction on I-635.

We have seen some possibilities in Northwood Hills, which seems like a fair compromise.

Merriman Park is a great area, and honestly, Forest Meadow and Lake Highlands are not overly different. I think the forest ghetto is more just a saying that people pick up. I went to LHJH, but my friends from FMJH had nothing negative or different to say, and the demographics were almost identical. In my day, the JH and HS were better and the elementary schools were sub par, so obviously things have changed from when I was there. SO MANY people move back though and I have several friends living in White Rock, Moss Haven, and Merriman Park. Growing up and with my parents still living there, they have the same kind of crime any other neighborhood has, but nothing has ever been an issue or even something they think about.

Moss Haven actually has better test scores and what people consider "better" demographics than Merriman Park, but it just isn't as well known. Anything in Merriman Park, Moss Haven, White Rock, or Lake Highlands is great, just be ready to get in a bidding war for your house.

Also, for what it's worth, my friends from FMJH are some of the wealthiest families I know, from any part of Dallas.

Seems like somewhere around Farmers Branch would work well. Both would be going against traffic on the commute.

Homes and neighborhood around Moss Haven look great. However, isn't that near Greenville & Forest apartments, which are known for high crime?
