What area the area called around S Lancaster and Keist? Is that S Oak Cliff?

The type of work you do probably matters... are you applying to be a gas station clerk? Working in an office? Bank teller? Cab driver? Or what?

The area is what it is.

Drive by, stop in, look about, ask around, and report back.

Personally, I like the area. The old Lancaster-Kiest shopping center is sort of campy.
