Hi, everyone. My friend and i just got our authorization to work in US with our permanent residency card. We moved in Dallas from Philippines last year through k-1 visa. We are both married to americans living here in DFW. We are now looking for a job to help our families back home and also to help our husbands. We don't drive and so we depend on our husbands to take us or pick us up. Most of the time they are not available so we had to take the bus . We are close to being depressed because of our situation. I have a BS ComSci degree with call center working experience and She got an Accounting degree and worked for Phil government owned company ( TESDA ) but because we are close to being desperate in finding a job we are willing to take any job even in walmart for example.

Which is better ,to apply online or visit every store or staffing agencies to get hired?

Any advice from a fellow filipino or online friend will be appreciated.

First of all, with degrees, you both need to get a resume. Type one up and make it as professional and to the point as you can. I would look in Monster.com and start emailing some resumes with cover letters. Also, word of mouth is good. Tell all your friends, relatives and acquaintances that you are looking for a job and network. Good luck!

Dallas has a great job market, spread that resume all over the place, staffing agencies, mail them out, fax them out. You will both find something.

Good Luck to you both.
