Hello,

We plan to drive from Dallas to Orlando and back for a small vacation - Universal, Disney, the usual stuff.
We will most likely go the 20 - 49 - 10 route.

Any suggestions on the route ? How are the rest stops and food exits along the way ? Is one route better than the other in that regard ? And what route will a mixed interracial family see the fewest stares and and get the most equal treatment ?

Any advice is welcome.

On I-49 you can stop at Paul Prudhomme's suster's restaurent. In Alexandria, maybe 1/2 between Shvpt and Laf there is a seafood place on the local bypass. In Mobile, there is a good seafood place on w 90, maybe The Captain's Table.

Thanks for the reply...after hearing a few horror stories, we flew

We also did the math...
Driving would mean a couple of extra days on the road ==?
* Two days of stay in a motel +
* Two extra breakfasts and lunches atleast +
* gas +
* extra depreciation on the van + wear and tear +
* two extra vacation days (If I monetize my vacation days its not chump change )

Doing the math we realised its almost the same price to fly anyway... or anyways that's how we rationalized it.

Agree, the math works better but for me driving gives the extra pleasure but that's just me
