I often believed districts get unfairly rated in scores when they are more diverse than others. I think if you truly want to get a clearer look apples to apples if you will, you need to go further and look into the data. Its easier for a homogeniuos school district to get higher overall scores, yet it might not show a realistic picture as a whole. I found this data interesting:

This is a list of the Class of 2013-2014 SAT scores - reading, math and writing scores combined - ranked by demographic group. Each SAT section is worth 800 points. A perfect score on the SAT is 2400. There has to be at least five students in any one demographic group before the data can be reported due to privacy reasons.
