DFW Home prices seeing no slow down, 10.3% up compared to third quarter of 2014. It is good news for sellers but not as rosy for those who just plan to move in. It's great to be in a expanding economy and healthy RE market but wondering how this will change after the presidential elections.
Page 10 is for DFW.

Doubtful the election will have any bearing on the local real estate market, at all.

Not sure how you think the WH affects local pricing.

I don't think the election will really have any impact on Dallas RE prices. I'm also not sure I agree that rising RE prices are good for all sellers. The ones who are selling and then turning around and buying a more expensive home end up paying more for that new home.

How this is a great thing for the vast majority of home owners who don't plan on selling soon is beyond me.

The only practical effect is a drastic increase in taxes without an increase in income. Stupid to be happy about that.

I'm astonished that many people are upset their net worths are increasing because they'll have to pay a bit more in property taxes all the while we Texans continue to face a much lower than average overall tax burden.

It's time to put the crying handkerchiefs away and look at the bigger picture.

Why are you astonished? I have to pay several thousand dollars a year extra just because my net worth went up and don't get anything tangible in return (at least I don't feel like city services or schools improve accordingly). I don't plan on selling and I'm not that vain to care about my net worth enough to happily pay thousands a year extra for virtually no return.

If I was a 1%er like you and my bigger picture would be an Excel spreadsheet with millions of net worth on the bottom line then I wouldn't care as much either.
Because I'm not a 1%er, my house is the biggest part of my net worth but it's not a liquid asset so if this gets more valuable then another more liquid part of my net worth has to suffer. I don't have millions in non-house assets like you seem to have so of course it's difficult for you to understand.
