Here's a coyote in my back yard, at noon a couple of years ago. Not a bit afraid of being seen.

Sounds like coyotes to me.

You see them more at night as they are nocturnal in nature. It is not unusual to see them during the day, just not as common.
There was one that was hanging out on the golf course by our house for several years, he had a broken leg that never healed.

They will come after small dogs and cats. They can also jump a fence. Bobcats can most def jump a fence!

Coyotes are all over the metroplex and have adjusted to humans. They can jump your fence and bobcats have been seen on my neighbor's roof! Don't let your dog's out at night alone.

A friend a few miles from me had a neighbor with a chicken coop. They were disappearing so they set up night vision cameras. The first night they caught site of 2 different bobcats. One was HUGE! In one frame you could see him jumping up into a tree a good 15'.

We also have large hawks and owls. Both are predatory in nature and will swoop down and get rabbits, vermin, small dogs, etc.
