A PISD school counselor told me that some PISD elementary schools group students by ability level (particularly for reading and math) and others do not. I am surprised that this practice is not consistent across the district. Does anyone know which PISD schools are organized either way? Curious which is more prevalent.

I recently found this out too. Our local school doesn't group this way but we have friends at another school that does. Could the counselor you spoke with tell you the schools?

Based on conversations I've had, I dont think any of the 8 elementary schools that feed into Shepton do this (outside of levelling within the classroom). I was suprised to learn that our friends at Hughston elementary do have different classes for homeroom, math and language arts that may have different kids in each. That school is a much smaller population so maybe that plays into it.
