Great Schools doesn't understand how to compute scores for 9-10 and 11-12 campuses vs the traditional 9-12. This hurts the Plano senior highs on GS rankings because if a state standards test is typically taken in 10th grade, the scores on that test reporting into the 11-12 campus are only the kids who have failed in 10th and are retaking. Make sense?

Looking at SAT and AP pass rate / % of class taking AP exams are two better ways to compare schools both in the metroplex and across states.

If you can find something on Renner Road then you can bike to your work. I believe parts of that area feed to Plano ISD. Best of both worlds and it has quicker access to highways too. I don't see many homes going on sale there but you may find more in late spring.

Allen is your best bet for commute under 30 mins.

East Frisco, West Plano, and McKinney if 45 mins commute is OK.

Richardson is a good place but Frisco, West Plano and McKinney are better for families with kids.

If you take Custer to travel to and from Allen, Frisco or McKinney, your commute would be faster and easier than 75 or Toll.

From West Frisco, for most part, travel to Richardson is around 40 mins during rush hour using toll roads but DNT and PGBT intersection is the bottle neck and might add 10 more mins on bad days.

I went to a church near Shepton Junior High School in West Plano from Cityline around 3pm today and it took me 12 minutes.

I would recommend you find a house in Richardson near Renner Road or one near George Bush Highway in Plano.

I agree, it's a horrible commute.
